The Blackstone Department of Public Works oversees the Highway Division, Water Division and Sewer Division.

The Department of Public Works mission is to support and enhance the quality of life for the Town of Blackstone's residents, businesses and visitors by providing well planned, environmentally sensitive, cost-effective infrastructure and services.

The Blackstone Department of Public Works (DPW) provides a wide range of services to the residents of Blackstone. The DPW provides services including constructing and maintaining roadways, water, sewer, and stormwater infrastructure. The Blackstone DPW is dedicated to efficiently and effectively maintaining and preserving the infrastructure of the Town in the most cost effective and environmentally conscious way. The department provides excellent customer service and high-quality utility services in an effort to preserve public safety and maintain a high quality of life for all town residents.

The Water Division maintains the town's seven well pumping stations and four water storage tanks to meet state and federal standards including miles of water mains, monitoring water quality, and inspections, performs required backflow testing, and maintains the water meters.

The Sewer Division maintains miles of sewer mains and thirteen sewer pump stations throughout the town.

While Public Works personnel are considered "First Responders", we are also considered the "Every Day Responders" enabling the residents, visitors, and businesses of the community to carry out their daily routines in a pleasant and safe atmosphere.
