Poisoning

National Poison Prevention Week is March 18-24, 2017.  This annual awareness event is nationally designated to highlight the dangers of poisonings and how to prevent them.  If you ever have to call 9-1-1 in the event of a poisoning, your Smart911 Safety Profile can relay important information to 9-1-1 call takers and first responders.

Poisoning Statistics:

– More than 90 percent of these poisonings occur in the home.

– The majority of non-fatal poisonings occur in children younger than six years old.

– Poisonings are one of the leading causes of death among adults.
