To apply for an appointed vacancy on a board, committee, or commission, please complete the Application of Intent to Serve Boards/Committees.  You can complete the document either digitally (if submitting an online copy) or physically (if submitting a hard copy).

Open Positions for Appointment:
  • Minimum of three (3) but a maximum of seven (7) members of the Economic Development Committee for 3-Year Terms
 
Elected Vacancies
 
Blackstone’s Town Clerk, Tara Sullivan, has announced that nomination papers for the April 3, 2023, Annual Town Election will become available from the Town Clerk’s Office on Thursday, January 12, 2023, for the following positions:
 
  • One (1) member of the Board of Assessors for a 3-Year Term
  • One (1) member of the Board of Assessors to fill an Unexpired 3-Year Term to expire ATE 2025
  • One (1) member of the BMR District School Committee for a 4-Year Term (Blackstone Representative)
  • One (1) member of the BMR District School Committee for a 4-Year Term (Millville Representative)
  • One (1) member of the BMR District School Committee to fill an Unexpired 4-Year Term to expire ATE 2026 (Millville Representative)
  • One (1) member of the BMR District School Committee to fill an Unexpired 4-Year Term to expire ATE 2025 (Millville Representative)
  • One (1) position for Constable to fill an Unexpired 3-Year Term to expire ATE 2025
  • One (1) member of the Board of Health for a 3-Year Term
  • One (1) position for Moderator for a 3-Year Term
  • Two (2) members of the Parks & Recreation Commission for 3-Year Terms
  • One (1) member of the Planning Board for a 5-Year Term
  • One (1) member of the Planning Board for an Unexpired 5-Year Term to expire ATE 2026
  • Two (2) members of the Board of Selectmen for 3-Year Terms
Candidates for town offices must obtain signatures from at least 34 registered Blackstone voters, and candidates for the Blackstone-Millville Regional District School Committee must obtain at least 35 signatures from either town or a combination of both. In addition, Regional School District candidates must file a notarized statement of candidacy with the Town Clerk’s Office from the town in which they reside.
