Chief Kevin Roy and the Blackstone Fire Department are pleased to invite community members to this year’s Open House, which will be held ahead of the 2024 National Fire Prevention Week.
"We are thrilled to invite the community to our Open House," Chief Roy said. "This will be a great day for children and their families with plenty of activities and demonstrations. Fire safety is extremely important and we'll use this opportunity to ensure the community is prepared in the event of an emergency."

WHAT
In celebration and recognition of Fire Prevention Week, the Blackstone Fire Department is hosting an open house featuring family activities and demonstrations. The event is open to all and free to attend.
Fire Prevention Week, recognized Oct. 6-12 this year, is organized by the National Fire Protection Association to educate the public about simple but important ways to keep themselves and those they live with safe. This year’s campaign is “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!™”
During the Open House, guests can enjoy live demonstrations and interactive activities. They include:
- Touch-a-Truck
- Live fire demonstration
- Jaws of Life extrication demonstration
- First aid activities
Refreshments will be served during the event.
The Blackstone Fire Department would like to thank Landmark Medical Center, which provided a $1,500 grant for the costs associated with the open house
