The winter storm forecast for Sunday night into Monday is increasingly severe, with heavy snow and strong winds expected throughout this period. These conditions may result in dangerous travel, reduced visibility, and potential power outages.

Town Impacts & Closures (Monday Only)

  • Trash Pickup Delayed One Day
    All trash and recycling routes will run one day later than your normal pickup day this week.
    Example:

    • Monday pickup → Tuesday

    • Tuesday pickup → Wednesday

    • Wednesday pickup → Thursday

    • Thursday pickup → Friday

    • Friday pickup → Saturday

  • Town Hall: Closed (Monday)

  • Library: Closed (Monday)

  • Schools: Please check directly with the schools for more information

Winter Parking Ban – In Effect
A winter parking ban is in effect to allow snowplows and emergency vehicles to safely clear roads.

  • Start: Sunday at 6:00 PM

  • End: Tuesday at 8:00 AM

  • No on-street parking during this time

  • Vehicles left on the street may be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense

This parking ban is enforced by the Blackstone Police Department to ensure roads can be cleared quickly and safely during the storm.

Public Safety & Road Conditions

  • DPW crews and contractors will be out in force throughout the storm.
    Please stay off the roads if possible so crews can work safely and efficiently.

  • Police Department is bringing in additional officers.

  • Fire Department is bringing in additional firefighters and medics.

Senior Center – Emergency Warming / Power Outages
If power outages occur, the Senior Center will open as needed.
