The Town of Blackstone is notifying residents of an incorrect and unauthorized mailing recently sent by Republic Services, the Town’s contracted solid waste and recycling hauler.
On November 20, 2025, the Town was alerted that several households received a letter from Republic Services instructing residents to call a customer service number or establish a new account. This letter was sent in error and does not apply to any Blackstone residents.
Residents’ trash and recycling services remain active and unchanged. No action is required.
Republic Services has confirmed in writing that:
- The mailing was incorrectly sent,
- It does not apply to the Town of Blackstone,
- Residents who received the notice should disregard it, and
- The company is reviewing the issue internally to prevent future errors.
The Town understands the confusion this mailing may have caused and is working closely with Republic Services to ensure accurate information is provided going forward.
Residents with any questions or concerns should contact the Blackstone Board of Health at 508-876-5130.
A copy of the erroneous mailing and Republic Services’ correction letter is included for public awareness.
