Emergency Water Main Repair – Summer Street
Today, Thursday, April 17, the Department of Public Works is conducting emergency repairs to the water main on Summer Street, between Farm Street and Blackstone Street.
Water Service Impact:
Residents in the affected area may experience a temporary loss of water. DPW crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to complete the repairs and restore service.
Water Discoloration Advisory:
Turning off the main may disturb sediment in the pipes, causing temporary discoloration. If this occurs, run the cold-water tap until it clears. Please check water quality before use, especially before doing laundry.
If rust stains appear on laundry or fixtures, iron-removing detergent is available free of charge at the DPW office on Elm Street. Do not use bleach, as it will permanently set the stain.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this necessary repair. For questions, please contact the DPW at 508-883-9331.
