Public Works crews are repairing a water main break at the intersection of New York Ave and Mayboro St. This may cause temporary water discoloration and reduced pressure in the area.
The water remains safe to drink, despite any discoloration. If your water appears discolored, run the cold-water tap until it clears. Discoloration is temporary and typically resolves within four to five hours.
Residents are advised to check their water before use, particularly before doing laundry. Do not use bleach on stained clothing, as this will set the stain permanently. If rust stains appear, an iron-removing detergent is available free of charge at the DPW office on Elm Street.
