Town of Blackstone Town Administrator Chad Lovett, Blackstone Public Library Director Lisa Cheever and the Blackstone Public Library Board of Trustees are pleased to announce that the library recently received a grant to provide free over-the-phone language interpretation services to the community.
The Blackstone Public Library received a grant through the Massachusetts Library System to provide free access to Over the Phone Language Interpretation: Language Line Solutions.
The service, which normally costs $3.95 per minute for voice calls and $4.95 per minute for video calls, is free to library patrons.
Library guests can use the service in person or over the phone.
"We are grateful to the Massachusetts Library System for granting us access to this service. This will benefit any non-English-speaking patron who needs translation assistance while accessing library services," said Library Director Cheever. "It is a wonderful resource for serving our patrons equitably and equally, making the library a more welcoming space for everyone."
