Residents are advised that a hydrant near 98 Mendon Street will be replaced on FRIDAY, JANUARY 9. This hydrant was damaged due to a motor vehicle accident.
Impact on Water Service:
Residents on Dawes Street, Wilbur Street, Warfield Lane, and a section of Mendon Street will experience a temporary water interruption. The water main will be shut down at 8:30 AM. The duration of the shutdown is unknown and will depend on conditions encountered. Our contractor will make every effort to expedite this work and minimize the interruption.
Important Information:
- Shutting down the water main may cause temporary water discoloration throughout the system due to sediment agitation.
- If your water appears discolored, run the cold-water tap until it clears.
- Check water before use, especially prior to doing laundry.
- If rust stains appear on clothing or fixtures, do NOT use bleach, as this will set the stain permanently.
- An iron-removing detergent is available free of charge at the DPW office on Elm Street.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience during this project.
For questions, please contact the DPW at 508-883-9331.
