The Blackstone Emergency Management Division is constantly working to develop, coordinate, and lead the local emergency management program, enabling effective preparation for, and efficient response to, emergencies and disasters in order to save lives, reduce human suffering and minimize property loss. Emergency Management is responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of all emergency management and Homeland Security related activities.
During a major disaster or emergency response, recovery activities are coordinated from the Town's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) located at the Fire Station # 2 building on Rathbun St. From the EOC, heads of various departments and agencies work in a unified command to respond and mitigate emergency.
